We are proud to live in an area with such a rich anthropological history. The Tarahumara Indians' history has been filled with special circumstances since first contact with them in the 1600's.
We can only give you a very small look at their interesting culture and lifestyle. We are sure that you will enjoy this brief look at their lives.
If you plan to visit the area and are interested in Tarahumara history, there are many books available in nearby Tourist towns. Chief among these in "Unknown Mexico" by Carl Lumholtz.
